THE BRAIN AND BWRT®

BrainWorking Recursive Therapy® is an incredibly clever therapy, and works with the brain and how the brain works (which is why it is called ‘Brain Working’).

That might sound really complex, but the way BWRT® works is actually very simple and straightforward. I’ve found that it helps clients to understand a bit about the brain, but also that they don’t actually use it when having therapy.

How does our brain work?

To give you a bit more understanding, the brain works a bit like a hose (as odd as that might sound).

If you imagine turning on the hose, it takes a split second for water to come out of the other end, even though the water has been turned on. The way the brain and the neural pathways work, is somewhat similar.

If you’re coming for BWRT, then, most likely, your hose is turned on by some kind of trigger and doing something you don’t want, like spurting out, or watering the wrong place, or causing a flood, or something else. In people terms, this will be a response you don’t want, such as panic attack, or meltdown, or whatever it is you want to change. BWRT just adjusts where your hose goes, so that it does what you want it to, like watering the flowers and letting them grow into something beautiful. Therefore, giving you the response you want in that specific situation, such as feeling calm, or being confident, or whatever way you want to respond instead.

If you want to know a bit more about the brain, then this film from Youtube explains it in language that is really easy to understand. It’s been created by MsThinkology from Use Your Brain for Success, and she has kindly given me permission to post this on my site.
