About Me
When choosing a therapist it is important to choose someone you feel you can work well with and trust. It’s important to have that connection. Read more about me and my path to becoming a therapist.
My Journey – all about me and therapy
I found myself led towards being a therapist as a result of experiencing a really rough time of my own and then my own experiences of therapy. I had encountered some incredible therapists and also, unfortunately, had some disappointing therapeutic experiences. I really felt that this was a field that I could go into, and use my experiences to inform my work and make me a better therapist in the process.
I was initially drawn to being a counsellor, and I still feel this is who I naturally am. Along my journey to becoming a counsellor, I stumbled on Hypnotherapy, BWRT and EFT much more by accident, than design, and found different ways of working incredible and fascinating. I find myself now, as a therapist, doing something I never imagined doing, but absolutely loving it. I now work as a therapist (as a member of various professional bodies, insured, supervised and DBS checked) working in Ipswich, Suffolk, since June 2014.
Alongside my private practice in Ipswich, I also have a contract with a local organisation, offering therapy to individuals who have experienced sexual abuse or sexual violence. Additionally, I also assist on trauma trainings for Babette Rothschild, where I continually learn.
Alongside my professional skills and competence, I have a very real approach when working with a client because I have a deep understanding of the fears and worries that a client may have. I also have the skills and knowledge to help you navigate through that and achieve whatever it is that you want to achieve and the inherent belief in people and the ability for healing, growth and change. An incredibly important part of my practice and who I am as a human, is to ensure that I provide a space that is inclusive and accepting for anyone who wants to be able to see me for therapy.
